Medical Emergency Team: Help members with health-related problems

The USPS Medical Emergency Team called "F.A.S.T." has openings for members who are health care professionals or who have health care backgrounds. Among other tasks, we make ourselves available to assist members who become ill or have health-related problems at national meetings. Cooperative Charting: Committee Member and District Representative

The Cooperative Charting Committee has help NOAA maintain the accurcy of their charts for four decades, the Committee is looking for USPS members that are willing to help continue this tradition. We are also working on a commitment to the US Army Corps of Engineers to develop a program similar to the one we have with NOS, this new program will submit chart updates to the inland river/lake charts for the USACE. Join a team that has been reported to be one of the most effective user-participation programs in the federal services.

Historian: Liaison Instructors; Creative Design Personnel

Membership - Recruiting: Compiling Statistics for Membership Analysis

The membership committee is assessing the reasons for our decline in membership. To this end, three members are needed to compile the statistics regarding the number of public education classes, number of new members and total squadron strength on a quarterly basis. Each person will be responsible for 11 districts and the squadrons in those districts. The statistics will be sent to you at the end of each quarter for placement on an EXCEL spread sheet.

Secretary: Compile GB CD/DVD

As a supplement to each national meeting, we publish a CD. This CD contains documents, handouts, tools, and presentations from the committee meetings held prior to the Governing Board. The first part of the job entails being the focal point for all submissions and storing them until it is time to burn a "master". The second part is organizing the materials to make them easily accessible by the members who purchase them. The final part of the job is burning a master DVD and sending it to HQ for production. If you have a PC with plenty of disk space, email which can accept large attachments, have a CD/DVD burner, and would like to help members take home their national meeting experience, contact me.

Every squadron newsletter editor will eventually need help once and a while. Newsletter advisors provide that help. Advisors are assigned a district and offer suggestions for improvement and answer question from squadrons in that district. During your review of the squadron newsletters you make year-end recommendations for the annual Dinstinction in Journalism Award.

Cooperative Charting: Quality Assurance

We need someone to work with P/R/C Ed Summers looking for faults in the various programs that we have, i.e. the new version of CC Web, the reporting program for the USACOE, the Boating Guide to America. Some of these programs are up and running but they always are in need of updating. Ed will serve as mentor and technical advisor until you are up to speed.

The committee is also looking for 5-6 new members.
